"Go further down the block"
Greeting friends,
I do hope that you are well in this after-holiday lag. Christmas came and went but we're still able to continue on celebrating right? If yes, then I'm right there with you. I'm beyond grateful for everything that's happened this past year. And I'm very much looking forward to 2013 like a Bilbo Baggins adventure. (The Hobbit is a must see by the way) Yep, the boys and I will be touring late January and we're stoked for it. There's even talk of a music video!
I think there comes a time when you have to take off your training wheels and go further down the block to a distance not yet traveled. Which is pretty nerve wrecking in something like a music career. But I know that if we stay true to the call that God set in our lives, he'll be holding the handlebars for us.
Our hope is that you will be encouraged through the music we play. More than that, we pray that Christ Jesus will enlighten your mind and change your heart. God bless you. As the new year arises, so let your hope go further down the block to a greater distance.
Your fellow new year comrades,
-Forefront

"It has never been or will ever be about me."
That's a lyric from one of the songs on our latest EP that's soon to be released. I think that is one of the best ways to put this latest project. Every time I start thinking about what I have done as far as accomplishment or goals, I must always come back to that humble state and say "it's not about me." That's a challenge in itself. If I took credit for the things I've done, I would be spiritually bankrupt. And what a debt that would be.
One of the best ways of remembering things they say, is creating a word picture in your mind. In today's culture and recent history, some are already made. The word "twilight" doesn't just mean the period between the evening sunset and the dark nighttime. Add werewolf and vampire to the meaning. And if I mention 9/11, two tall burning buildings would probably come to mind. When remembering what life is about, it's definitely got to be Jesus, the God of all. And the word picture would be the cross. He gave the perfect example of the "it's not about me" attitude when he said in Luke 22:42 "saying, 'Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from me. Yet I want Your will to be done, not mine.'"
As I reflect this concept and way of thinking, I find that being human is better lived when living is giving up our lives. We want that to be displayed not only in our music but in our everyday lives, with our everyday opportunities to really live.
Remember to live,
-Jon

Hey everyone!
Here in mid-Summer things are looking quite nice. It's become a very nice and hot summer season with so many wonderful events happening. One very worthy of mention is the marriage of our brother to Sharon Vasquez, now our sister-in-law. She's great and we're so very proud of them two.
We're about midway through our EP which is set to release, Lord willing in August. We have put a lot of effort into this one. We did also in the previous EP's. But we now have the understanding that time is not on our side, we're not going to be young forever and our talents are never going to be the best this world has ever witnessed. Which is why we as a band, as brothers and sons of our heavenly Father need to use what we have to get the word out, and fast. The word is God. And God is love. I heard it said that the Gospel could be shared in 3 words, "Jesus loves you." That's so true. And we want everything we do to reflect around that. Whether it's playing on stage, meeting new people or simply working at our jobs.(we do have individual jobs by the way)
We're playing a lot of events this Summer that were excited about. We do apologize for not letting you all know when we're playing live. Most of them are closed events such as retreats and such. Toward the end of the year we'll be playing at some local shows around San Antonio, and we'll be giving you updates about all that.
Drop a comment, share whatever or just say Hello. We'll be glad to hear from you.

David, Jon, Michael and A.J. Medrano

Hola there,
We had a great day recording in the studio! Just an update on a few things. Over the past few months we wrote some songs centered around love in motion. A love that's more than a feeling, and one that's clearly seen. So then came "The Sound In Motion." The meaning behind the song is the idea of a love that moves the heart. Putting action before words in love, is a love on the move to make a righteous sound. A side note, we can't attain this own our own! We are by far incapable of loving the way we were made to by our own strength. It's only by hearing, trusting and obeying in the love that God has for us, that we can rightfully have this love in us. Surrendering is a big part of it.
God has really been teaching us a lot, and also showing us his faithful love in many ways. Like today, our car broke down on the highway on the way to the studio see. Seriously, such a bummer. Luckily, our dad's a mechanic and was a phone call away. We were picked up by our good friend Isai Guerra, who's also producing our album. After the amazing studio session, and helping our dad out with the vehicle, we're back home safe and sound. Life is so out of our control, and things break, people are late and traffic jams are very good at testing ones patience. Looking to the one who is in control of it all is the best way to get through each day.
We're so excited and can't wait to finish the album and let you all hear it. We're hoping for July. But we'll let you know how things go along the way.
As we hear with our hearts,
-David, Jon, Michael and A.J.

First Post
Hello all,
So here's the first one. A new blog we'll be starting and doing our best to keep updated. It's really a lot harder than it sounds. But the fact remains. We live for more than ourselves. In that statement we need to continue in serving others and getting the message out through the way of music. The hope we sing about in our songs is one with a transcending truth that Jesus is alive and well. He's in the business of restoring live and making awesome adventures for people who strive for it.
I've said it many times, and I still believe it, this is going to be a great year. Not only for us but for Gods people. Keep a look out for great things coming ahead. As will we.
Your good friends,
-Forefront
David, Jon, Michael and A.J.
